Memphis Herb Society – September 23, 2021 – Minutes
President Kathy James opened the September 2021 meeting of the Memphis Herb Society at 7:00 in the Goldsmith Room at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Members and guests were given a warm welcome and all those that brought refreshments were extended a special thanks. Kathy recognized our corporate sponsors, including Jones Orchard, Fayette Cares and Good Life – Honeysuckle – National Foods. Kathy reminded all present that we still need one or more volunteers to provide technical help with our meetings. Members were reminded that the financial report and that information about upcoming events could be found in the Memphis Herb Society Newsletter. Our next meeting will be on October 28, 2021 and will feature two of our own members, Reni Erskine and Evelyn Mosley as our speakers.
Kathy then recognized Reni Erskine, past president, who introduced tonight’s speaker, Jason Reeves. Jason is a native of Carroll County, Tennessee and is currently with the UT Gardens in Jackson, Tennessee.
Following Jason Reeves’ presentation on Gardening in Tight Spaces, in which Jason gave many examples of trees and bushes that would fit into tight spaces, the meeting was adjourned.
