November – Double Event

Join us for our November 21 meeting for TWO holiday-themed events – our SILENT AUCTION fundraiser and HOLIDAY GIFTS FROM THE EARTH program presented by herbalist Lydia Koltai. Please note that our meeting is earlier than usual this month due to Thanksgiving. Also, we will be meeting in Hardin Hall instead of the Goldsmith Room. These events will run simultaneously so it will be double the treasure and fun! Read details below.

Silent Auction

This will be a great time to start your holiday shopping for your favorite gardener or herb lover!  Our Silent Auction raises funds for our speakers and other club expenses, so invite your friends and plan to attend!

Please consider donating an item for this worthy cause. How to donate?

  • Step 1: You can simply bring your item early the night of the auction. However, it would be great to have as many items as possible displayed before the meeting. We are happy to pick up your items prior to November 21, the earlier, the better so we can get our items grouped and priced and ready for the auction. You can contact Sheila Leggett at 469-867-4131 or Jennifer Stanek at 901-233-5378.
  • Step 2:  Print and fill out the item description and retail value on this MHS Blank Bid Sheet and include it with your item.We will also have printed blank forms available that evening if you are unable to prepare it ahead of time.

If you have a connection with a business that would donate, please contact them.

In Lydia’s program, she will be demonstrating how to make finishing salts and bath blends, discussing the benefits and types of herbs to use, and will provide us with recipes so that you can make your own customized blends as gifts for the holidays. To read Lydia’s bio, click here
