Daryl Leven is head nurturer and owner of New Way Aquaponic Farms (NWAF), a teaching, learning, and production farm in Midtown Memphis specializing in farm-to-table. NWAF produces vegetables and teaches the process of combining aquaculture (raising fish) with hydroponics (growing plants in water) in a symbiotic relationship, called aquaponics.

After spending 40 years working in corporate America throughout the world, Daryl was drawn to aquaponics because God placed in his heart a desire to look at food insecurity. With 40% of all food that is grown or raised being thrown away, Daryl felt there must be a way for societies to look at feeding people in an environmentally sustainable manner that also stressed utilizing local resources.

Aquaponics has allowed Daryl to help school age kids and adults better understand where food comes from and what it takes to grow vegetables and a protein anywhere.
