Jeff Carnahan

Jeff Carnahan’s life has been dedicated to agriculture on the national and international scene.  He has always had a desire to serve others and officially began to do so as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in the Federated States of Micronesia. After completing his advanced education with a Master of Science degree in Agriculture, he went on to work internationally with the USDA serving as a manager and advisor for food production on 4 different continents speaking the many languages that were needed to educate agricultural workers. At that time his specialty was the cultivation of potatoes.

We are inviting Jeff to address and share with us his love of agriculture and his love of serving people who are in need.  This has been most evident through the many volunteer hours he has invested over the last 14 years as Coordinator of the Cotton Patch Community Garden!!!  Each year almost a half-ton of sweet potatoes have been donated to multiple regional food banks.  This has truly been a labor of love for him.

Come and learn about this important staff of life, the sweet potato, that so many worldwide communities appreciate including our own. It will be an evening of learning and fun!  Join us a little early around 6:15 for Sweet Potato Chat and Slips Giveaway (as long as supplies last)!

Jeff shares helpful hints on growing sweet potatoes:
