Reflections of a Family Herbalist:
Growing & Using Herbs as a Primary Form of Healthcare

with Speaker Chris Cosby

Thursday, September 26th
6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Chris will candidly explore the lessons learned from nearly two decades of using plant-based medicine as the primary form of healthcare for his family. He’ll discuss the many challenges of using herbs as medicine with children, the changes in the herbs used over time, and the importance of understanding energetics and constitution for making effective decisions about which herb or combination of herbs to use in a given situation. Chris will share some of his successes and failures, thoughts on treating acute versus constitutional conditions, and delve into the benefits of growing your own herbs, making your own medicine, and developing a diverse herbal toolkit.

Chris Cosby is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Plants + People, a consulting firm offering a range of services from a one-time consultation to full design packages, educational lectures, and workshops on a variety of horticultural and ecological topics. Chris designs gardens that are “ecologically sound, lush and beautiful…in harmony with the people, land, and buildings around them, a permaculture approach.”
